Yes, it was me, Emanuel G. whose performance art, using viola and paintbrush, demonstrated artistic applications with the Preval Spray System.
When I heard about Preval's spray gun, I was curious to learn about the controlled spray, like an airbrush. I used this controlled spray to develop a technique to apply the first layer of paint on the canvas. I could hold the spray gun about one foot away from the canvas, to create an airbrush mist, or 6 inches away to create a richer, almost spray paint like effect. After applying this first layer, I used a squeegee to create a scraped affect with the paint.
I also used the Preval Spray gun to adhere my mixed media to the canvas. After cutting out the music score, I filled the Preval reservoir with matte medium, and sprayed directly onto the back of the cutouts. It was fast and easy to apply them to the canvas at this point.
Lastly, I used a gloss medium with my Preval Spray gun to finish the painting, sealing everything with a glossy polymer finish.
