My kids love playing on sports teams. My husband and I love going to their games to watch them! With so many games and different teams they're on, it's difficult for me to justify spending so much money on shirts, hats and banners. I think you all know where this is going.
I break out my trusty Preval Sprayer and stencils to create my own inexpensive and fast Fan wear! I find t-shirts for cheap quite often at Walgreen's and Jo-Ann Fabrics. Sometimes I have found them 2 for $5! That's a pretty good deal! Then finding airbrush paint or even some fabric paint that I dilute, works well.
Items Needed:
- Preval Spray System
- T-shirt, ball cap, 2' X 3' - 5' fabric
- Fabric paint or air brush paint of your choice
- Stencil(s)
- Painters or Craft Tape
What to do:
- I lay out my shirt, hat or banner out on newspaper or out on the grass if it's nice weather outside. (for the shirt, make sure to have a piece of cardboard or a few layers of newspaper inside the shirt to avoid paint bleeds through the shirt while spraying)
- Mix paints in my Preval reservoir.
- Attach the Preval Power unit
- Tape my stencils to my shirt or hat. For banners, I usually go free hand or I will make large letter stencils.)
- Use my Preval 10-12" from my surface at a 45 degree angle and spray evenly over the stencil(s)
- I like to allow the first coat to dry (up to 2 hours) and usually apply two layers.
- Once completely dry, I remove the stencils and tape and I like to wash the shirts before sporting them, but the hats and banners are fine as it.
