Looking to update that garden furniture? Granted we did just celebrate Labor Day and will be putting the furniture away soon. I look at this refresher as a way to be prepared for next Spring any Summer! Think about how surprised you'll be when you open you shed and see the beautiful sunshine-y furniture awaiting for you to put out and you don't have to really do anything but possibly dust it off!
Materials needed:
- Electric Sander
- Medium Coarse Sandpaper
- 1 Can of Primer
- 2 colors of Acrylic Paint
- 1 Can of Acrylic Paint Thinner
- 2 Preval Sprayers
- Painters tape
- 1 Can of Finish or Sealer
- Ventilation mask
What to do:
- Wearing your ventilation mask, attach sandpaper to electric sander to remove excess paint from the furniture.
- Once the old paint has been removed, fill your Preval reservoir with the primer to prepped the piece(s)
- Mix your lighter color with thinner in a 2:1 paint to thinner solution in your Preval reservoir.
- Spray the entire piece with the base color. Allow to dry for several hours.
- Tape off the sections of the piece that you do not want to be sprayed the second color with the painters tape.
- Mix your second paint color with thinner in a 2:1 paint to thinner solution in your Preval reservoir.
- Spray evenly along taped sections
- Allow second color to dry before removing the tape.
- Since the piece will be outside for the Spring / Summer season, or should you decide to leave your furniture pieces outside year, I recommend taking some finish or sealer to finish the paint to assure your furniture lasts longer!
