If you’re like me, than you may think that termites are the only insects that can pose a hazard to your home.  However, termites aren’t the only one who enjoy a buffet filled with a variety of wooden structures.  Carpenter ants can be just as big of a problem as termites, which automatically leads people straight to the exterminator.  Instead, try filling your Preval Sprayer System with a homemade remedy so you can safely, and effectively, spray the ants away.

Even though carpenter ants perform some tasks that are beneficial, like chewing up dead wood and turning it into sawdust, however, if your home has a cedar wood frame or has plywood siding, you could be treading on thin ice.  To protect your home or building from these ants, try combining the following ingredients:

·         1 teaspoon of salt
·         ½ teaspoon of white pepper
·         1 quart of water

Mix all of the ingredients really well, and then run it through a strainer to remove any solid bits.  Fill your Preval reservoir with a portion of the mixture and spray any and all affected areas.  Make sure to also spray the perimeter of the infested area to help prevent future infestations.

When you have an insect problem, especially one those poses a serious threat to the structure of your home, your first instinct is to immediately call the exterminator.  Instead, you can use a few common ingredients found in your kitchen, along with the power of your Preval Sprayer System.  Do you know of some other ways that Preval can help get rid of uninvited insects in your home?  All you have to do is send in your pictures or video that show what you made and how you made it with Preval, and you could win a trip for two to Las Vegas!  Look for details on Preval’s Home Page, under the NEWS section.
