Repainting a room or piece of furntire, especially if you’re completely changing the paint color, can be a daunting task.  Not only do you need to remove the current paint, but you also need to prepare the surface to be repainted.  To make repainting a smoother process, you can enlist the help of your Preval Sprayer System.

Before you embark on your repainting adventure, make sure the surface of whatever it is that you’re repainting is clean.  Use a mild detergent or soap with water, and a household sponge for oily surfaces.  Make sure to clean off any dirt or debris to ensure you get down to the original surface.

Next, it’s time to strip the current paint.  Instead of using a paint brush or a roller you can easily use Preval to help you strip away old paint.  Start by putting on a pair of rubber or latex gloves because the chemicals from the paint stripper can sometimes burn your skin.  Next, fill the Preval reservoir with paint stripper, and spray one section at a time.  Use a scraper to remove soft excess paint, and a mineral spirit to remove the rest.

Once all of the old paint is removed it’s time to prep the surface for a new coat of paint.  You want to make sure that whatever type of surface that you’re painting is ready to accept a new coat of paint.  You can use your Preval System to apply a number of different paint primers.  For example, if you’re priming plywood you can fill your Preval reservoir with paint primer that has been thinned out with turpentine or water, and apply two thin coats to the surface.  Whatever the surface may be, just be sure to make sure that you’re using a primer that corresponds with the appropriate surface.

Even though repainting can be a time consuming project you can easily get it done in no time with the help of your Preval Sprayer System.  Do you know of some other ways that using Preval can help you to be more efficient in your painting projects?  All you have to do is send in your pictures or video that show what you made and how you made it with Preval, and you could win a trip for two to Las Vegas!  Look for details on Preval’s Home Page, under the NEWS section.
