Still think there is no versatility the Preval Sprayer? Check out this sweet IKEA update project that you can have your kids help with!

This desk was painted with Martha Stewart's Metallic Glaze in Muscovado and  Glitter Paint in Aquaurium Blue. The final touches were made with an Automotive urethane Clearcoat from the Preval Sprayer to help give the table a nice Marble-esque finish.

The trick with making a more marble looking finish is to use your metallic and your glitter paints in a nice, mixed pattern. The table in the video and photos is actually wood and look at how great it turned out!

Materials needed:

What to do:

  1. Cover the area that you plan to be spraying your table top with the drop cloths.
  2. Mix two parts of the Metallic Glaze paint with one part thinner in your first reservoir and do the same with the Glitter Specialty Finish in your second reservoir
  3. Take turns spraying each color evenly along the surface, making sure to use a marble type pattern for the top.
  4. Allow a few hours for the paint to dry
  5. In your third and final reservoir, add your urethane gelcoat and thinner to using the same 2:1 mix ratio.
  6. Once the table top is dry, attach the Preval Sprayer to the reservoir and spray an even coat over the painted surface. You only need one coat of the gel kote.
  7. Once the surface is completely covered, allow up to 8 hours to dry before using the table top.

Your final product should look something like this.
