If you’re anything like me then your style and taste is constantly changing.  While an ever evolving style is a great way to keep things interesting, it can make redecorating an expensive habit.  Painting walls and buying furniture to match your mood of month will eat away at your bank account fast.  Instead of rushing out buying everything and anything, why not use your Preval Sprayer System to give your existing pieces a makeover!

A really fun and funky pattern that seems to never go out of style is tortoise shell.  Even though you may not always be able to find pieces of furniture, or even fabric, with that pattern, your Preval System makes it an easy style to obtain.  And the best part about it is that even those without any artistic ability can tackle this project.

Start by choosing a base of pale yellow, which will show through after you apply other colors.  You can apply the base coat by filling your Preval reservoir with the thinned out base coat and spraying the surface that you’re working with.  Next, you will need three shades of brown.  You can do this by mixing glaze with a small amount of raw sienna, raw umber, and transparent yellow ocher.  With your Preval sprayer, apply these different shades in a random way, being sure to leave some background color to shine through.  Then take a soft paint brush and gently brush the wet paint in the direction of painted oblongs.  And then, repeat the same motion in the opposite direction.  Wipe the softener until the brushstrokes disappear.  Wipe away everything, so that all that’s left is the yellow background, and repeat the first step, making the look irregular.  There is no right or wrong way to do this, so continue the steps until you get your desired look.
