Handy Outdoor and Gardening tips from Preval

With the weather warming  up comes more outdoor activities and gardening projects. We thought we'd share some handy tips to help make your outdoor projects more enjoyable and less cumbersome.

  1. Looking to freshen the look of last years plant box's or clay pots - use your preval sprayer and some external paint or dyes to create a fresh look.
  2. Trying to just restore your pots back to life, get those salt deposits off of your clay pots to reuse this Summer? Grab that Preval and mix equal parts white vinegar, rubbing alcohol and water in the reservoir, spray the pot evenly and let sit for 1 hour; and scrub clean with a plastic brush or rough cloth. Let them dry and you're ready to plant!
  3. Hate dirt under your fingernails from digging in the dirt? Draw your nails across a bar of soap, sealing the undersides of your nails. Go ahead and work in that garden. When you're finished, wash your hands and your nails will look as if they never touched a speak of soil!
  4. Keep the line for your string trimmer from breaking or sticking. Add some vegetable oil into your Preval and spray evenly along the line before installing it into trimmer!
  5. If you have crazy, unpredictable weather like we do in Chicago, try using small clay pots to cover young plants and protect them from possible overnight frosts or freezes!
  6. Have leftover water from steaming or boiling veggies? Don't dump it down the drain. Water your potted plants with the water and see how they react to the extra nutrients in their soil!

Try out these tips and let us know how they work for you!
